The Application Process

Thomas College welcomes graduate students who are seeking a degree, as well as those who are just taking classes. All on-campus and online, graduate degree programs have rolling admissions, and applications will be considered for the next available term. 

Domestic Applicant Instructions

  1. Submit the free online graduate application.
  2. Request all colleges and universities previously attended send an official transcript directly to the graduate office at [email protected].
    1. You can submit an official transcript by visiting your previous institution(s) Office of the Registrar webpage and request transcripts through their designated platform. Transcripts can be sent electronically to [email protected] or mailed to the graduate office at:

    2. A college senior may apply in advance of graduation. Seniors should submit current unofficial transcripts and request that an updated official transcript be submitted after the degree is conferred.
    3. Thomas alumni need not submit a Thomas transcript.
  3. Request two letters of reference from individuals who you feel are best suited to speak to your ability to succeed in a graduate program. In the application portal, you will be asked to enter the name and contact information for two professional references. This will send an automated email with a personalized upload link directly to your references where they can upload their letter and complete this required step. Recommendations can be submitted by employers, mentors, professors, or college advisors.
  4. Optional: Submit a current resume or Curriculum Vitae
  5. Optional: Submit a Statement of Purpose essay outlining your rationale for pursuing advanced education in light of current educational, career, and personal goals.
  6. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is expected for graduate admittance. Applicants who have met the program prerequisites and have an undergraduate GPA of 2.5-2.9 may be reviewed by the Provost for consideration of admission to a graduate program. Significant professional work experience is considered if the undergraduate GPA admission criteria is not met.

All students who have completed nine credits at the graduate level are required to complete an application for admission before they will be permitted to register for their next course.
